Henry Ford College and Wayne County Community College squared off in a head-to-head match-up on Thursday night.

The Henry Ford College women's basketball team faced Wayne County College in a head-to-head match-up on Thursday night before the men's basketball game.

The Detroit Red Wings started the regular season with a string of problems. One of the team’s top penalty killers, Darren Helm, is on injured reserve. Veteran defenseman Trevor Daley just returned off the injury list last week.

Placing fifth last year in the North Central District standings, the Henry Ford College wrestling team is looking to make a big impact this season. The squad is welcoming back six wrestlers as well as sixteen new faces.

The Henry Ford College volleyball team hosted Macomb Community College on Oct. 2 and Schoolcraft Community College on Oct. 4, winning both home games 3-0.
