It almost always comes to us in a YouTube video. Fit men and women taking on the streets in ways that seem to go against the laws of physics. Jumps, flips, heights, and amazing feats of balance. The problem is that most of what we see in those videos is not real parkour. In fact, real parkourists think it’s crazy to jump from precarious heights.

Since its ancient beginnings, parkour has been used to help people hunt effectively. It wasn’t until recently that we decided to put a name to it. Now it’s quickly becoming a popular urban sport.

The Fantasy Sports Trade Association says that over 30 million people play fantasy football, and that number is only expected to grow which begs the question: are fantasy sports becoming too popular?

Wrestling is For Real

Wrestling will be added as a varsity sport at HFC next season. The news added to the excitement of this year’s National Collegiate Wrestling Association Fall Brawl Tournament hosted by HFC on November 1. Hawks wrestling has had plenty of success as a club team over the past two years, with six national qualifiers in its first season, and seven of them last season. All of this has occurred under the leadership of head coach Grant Mackenzie, who has been voted Coach of the Year for the Great Lakes Region for two years in a row.
