On Wednesday, November 18, 2015 HFC’s History Department hosted a special event. Students were invited to attend; this was also open to the public. This was an informational session; this was hosted in honor of Veterans Day.

HFC and the League of Women Voters (LWV) of Dearborn–Dearborn Heights hosted students from colleges around the region during the 12th annual Student Political Issues Convention on Nov. 6.

During the week of November 22, 2015, over 50 professionally decorated trees filled the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center for the 31st annual Festival of Trees.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Hawks Nest Food Pantry will be held on Thursday, December 10 at 9:15am in the ASCC building L. The Hawks Nest will operate on weekdays during the semester from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The future of online education at HFC has come into question since the Board of Trustees voted to allocate 1.5 million dollars to explore online education last fall.

Online courses have been a real benefit to many students and their flexibility has made them more convenient for students who have to balance work and family obligations while completing their degree. It has also proven profitable for institutions who have entered the online education arena.
