Journalists from around the country gathered on September 12 at Wayne State University to tackle the question of media diversity. The regional summit was hosted by UNITY: Journalists for Diversity, in order to help bring the stories of communities who are often ignored to the forefront.

I must admit, initially I was excited.

I had reached out to the Republican Party of Genesee and Saginaw County to see if I could attend Donald Trump’s event in Birch Run at their Expo Center. I did not expect the answer to be yes. However, for an unpredictable candidate, riding on a wave of unexpected popularity, coming to a small town an hour and a half north of Detroit, the answer was yes. On the afternoon of August 11, I found myself driving north on I-75 to see Donald Trump: billionaire and front-runner for the Republican party’s presidential primary.

Who Keeps Campus Safe?

Members of the Dearborn Police Department were on hand August 25 and 26, touring the HFC campus with Campus Safety specialists. The tour was part of an initiative aimed at improving the partnership between the Dearborn Police and HFC officials.

Child Development Center Closes
