Devon Smiley was a student at South Haven High School, which is located in western Michigan, about three hours away from Dearborn. He was the starting quarterback of the football team and played on the baseball and wrestling team.
On February 10 through 12, the Liberal Arts Network for Development, also known as LAND, held its conference in Grand Rapids, where nine HFC students received awards and recognition for their research and art.
Henry Ford College alumnus, Shahid Mohammad, has won five international film festival awards -- all for a play entitled “Angel’s Night” that he wrote while he was a student in a Media Writing class with HFC’s director of Telecommunications, Susan McGra
Several people have aided in the work that went into the Mirror News over the last year. Led by Halimah Amatullah, our former editor-in-chief, the paper was home to these talented people and their sweat and tears. (Possibly blood, we didn’t ask.) The current staff is privileged to inherit the paper they have molded and looks forward to carrying on the proud traditions of this student newspaper.
Rayford McKinstry is a recent Henry Ford College graduate and the first winner of the newly established President’s Scholarship. Humble and kind, McKinstry shared that he had a plan in his mind as he accepted the award at the President’s Gala on May 16th.
