Woman’s Recognition Luncheon

Friday, March 27, from 11am-1:30pm, HFC will be hosting its 42nd Women’s Recognition Luncheon “Women Leaders: Driving Our Future.” The luncheon event will be held in the Culinary Arts Center in the M building, and will help raise money for the Student Outreach and Support (SOS) program. The purpose of this program is to aids HFC students who are experiencing emergency financial situations so that they can continue their education. According to Dr. Brenda Hildreth, the HFC SOS coordinator, “each year, more and more students utilize this fund. It addresses minor financial emergencies (a lost textbook, a bus card, a tire replacement, etc.) that could cause a student to drop out of school,” (hfcc.edu).

There will be a panel of female speakers present from a variety of different backgrounds. The speakers include;

Channel 4’s former anchor/reporter Lila Lazarus, Jackie Lovejoy, the president of the Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce, Haifa Fakhouri, Ph.D., the president and CEO of the Arab American and Chaldean Council (AAC), and Beth Chappell, the president and chief executive officer of the Detroit Economic Club (DEC).

Please come and show your support. The luncheon tickets will be on sale, along with sponsorship opportunities that are tax deductible, and include tickets to the tin can raffle that will take place at 11am. The deadline for donations will be Friday, March 20.
