HFC’s Student of the Month is an award given to students who demonstrate leadership, who are involved in student life as well as student activities and who are positive role models to their peers. Mirror News would like to give special congratulations to February’s Student of the Month Fahd Khalida.
We asked Fahd about his goals and what it feels like to be titled February’s Student of the Month. Here's what he had to say:
- Could you please provide me with a brief bio- your goals, including what degree you’re going to school for.
- What clubs and organizations are you a part of?
- What accomplishment earned you the title of student of the month for February?
- How does it feel to have gotten this recognition and to have your face on the wall and on the TV screens?
- What advice would you give to future students who would like to become student of the month?
- Is there anything else you would like to add?
I lived more than half my life in foreign countries like Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, London and the United Arab Emirates so I've grasped a great deal of information on different cultures and traditions from the countries that I lived in. This is my second year as a student at Henry Ford College, and I'm pursuing a degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
I'm the president of the Muslim Student Association.
The Student of the Month program is to boost the morale and motivation of student leaders. I was selected on the based on the execution of an outstanding programming idea and demonstrated leadership. But I assure you it was a team effort.
It's quite overwhelming, everybody seems to notice me. I've had other students come and congratulate me.
I would say to all the students, "Be where you are meant to be, be punctual, and be prepared."
I would just like to say being student of the month means nothing without the team. This award does not just reflect on my achievements, but rather on the achievements on the Muslim Student Association as a team.
Here is another example of what hard work and dedication can achieve. Great job Fahd Khalifa, keep up the good work!
