YouTube Channels Every Student Should Know (Part II)

Last issue, five videos that help students academically were discussed, this issue’s article will focus on knowledge students might want to gain regardless of school.

  1. SciShow (211,465,810 views)
  2. As the name indicates, it is a science related YouTube channel. It covers topics like chemistry, physics, biology, entomology, astronomy, medicine, psychology, anthropology, and computer science with three-minute videos and answers to questions everyone seems curious about. Its other channel SciShow Space covers topics, and to quote the creators, “From facts about astronomy and cosmology to the latest in space news.”

  3. MinutePhysics (187,076,628 views)
  4. Using time-lapse drawings, MinutePhysics teaches all things science in quick and easy to grasp videos. Two other YouTube Channels are available, 1- MinuteEarth and that covers the physical earth and 2- MinuteLabs which teaches using, “… text, images, audio, video, interactive simulations, games, you name it!”

  5. C.G.P Grey (121,708,131 views)
  6. This channel’s trademark is the short, fun explanatory videos. While other channels teach about stuff learned in school, C.G.P Grey teaches about the real world, from learning how to become pope to Net Neutrality.

  7. Sexplanations (9,038,505 views)
  8. Growing older, our bodies get weirder and weirder. Sexplanations explains everything in regards to body, sex, health, and everything that schools don’t teach. This channel is hosted by clinical sexologist Dr. Lindsay Doe whose aim was to be able to spread free sexual education. This channel is described as, “A sex education channel… in which she discusses sex, sexuality, and related topics and issues openly and honestly.”

  9. Healthcare Triage (3,792,200 views)
  10. This YouTube channel talks everything anyone would want to know about health. Whether its questions regarding healthcare policies or general info that you’ve always wanted know - this channel covers it. Dr. Aaron Carroll explains healthcare policy, medical research, and answer a lot of other questions you may have about medicine, health, and healthcare.”
