Reminders for a New Semester

After a snowy and blustery winter, you may be eagerly anticipating warm sunshine and colorful, blooming flowers. As your thoughts turn to adventurous vacations, outdoor activities, and renewed friendships, don’t forget to focus on your educational plans. Here are a few reminders:

Registration for spring and summer semesters begins on March 25, 2013.

You can view the course offerings in advance, commencing on March 11.

Registration for fall semester begins on April 8.

Preview fall offerings on March 18.

Payment for classes is generally due by the end of the week in which you register, so apply for financial aid now or use other options, such as EZ Pay Installment Plan, scholarships, or other third party providers (employers or organizations who provide tuition assistance).
If you plan to take spring or summer classes and you are using the Pell Grant, check with staff in Financial Aid to see if you have remaining funds.
If you are undecided about your future, visit our licensed professional counselors on the main campus to explore career options. Interest assessments, classes, and other online interactive research tools, such as Focus Career 2, will provide valuable information.
Even if you are currently in an HFCC Program, take time to discuss with your counselor your remaining requirements, transfer or occupational plans, and strategies for a successful semester.
Make an appointment now by calling (313) 845-9611, or by visiting LRC 117, the buildingnext to the HFCC Library.
By having an academic plan in place now, you will be able to devote yourself to more important things later, like enjoying our Michigan Spring!
