The Center for Lifelong Learning (CL2) at HFCC is a wonderful asset to students, but what about the younger generations? CL2 is now offering a youth enrichment program in art for children ages 6 to 15 on Saturdays at HFCC’s main campus.
The first session (Jan 26-Feb 23) is well underway and there has been a great turnout. The second session is set to begin on March 16 and will run through April 13. This program offers classes in all sorts of mediums including painting, drawing, and ceramics.
More specifically, the painting courses are offered as either acrylics or watercolors for age groups 6 to 8 or 9 to 12. Drawing classes are also diverse with Discover Drawing for ages 7 to 11, Portrait Drawing for ages 12 to 15, and Color Theory Drawing for ages 11 to 14.
Class fees range from $40 - $75 depending on course and residency status. If these dates do not fit your child’s schedule, do not be discouraged. This program will continue throughout the upcoming fall semester as well.
Registration is handled through the Center for Lifelong Learning. You can register your child or get more information by calling 313-317-1500 or by visiting www.hfcc.edu/CL2.
