News - HFCC Hosts Winter Welcome Back Days

Now that winter classes are fully up and running, Henry Ford Community College hosted their semi- annual Welcome Back Days from January 29 to January 31. Welcome Backs Days takes place towards the beginning of every Fall and Winter semester and it allows new and returning students to see what HFCC has to offer. Students also have the chance to see what universities they can transfer to after their time at HFCC.
Student clubs, programs, and organizations all have the chance to get word out to other students about who they are and what they do. And not only does Welcome Back Days serve as a tool for students to find clubs that peak their interest but it also can be fun too.
With live music, face painting, and free treats at nearly every table, students are able to enjoy themselves while finding out what all HFCC has to offer.
When asked how he thought how Welcome Back Days went, Bryan Pattison, a second year student, stated: “I had a blast at Welcome Back Days, I wasn’t there for the whole thing but I still got to meet a lot of new people and join a few clubs too.”
Many clubs participated in Welcome Back Days in order to attract new members. Not only does Welcome Back Days act as free form of advertisement for the students clubs, but it also allows current club members to contribute and have fun as well.
“I think Welcome Back Days was a success,” says Bryan Rooke, President of the Graphic Novel Club, “We were able to get a lot of interesting people to join our club, and I think a lot of our current members had fun too with being able to hang out and talk to everyone there.”
With the first two days solely devoted to student clubs and on-campus organizations, students have the chance to see what activities HFCC has outside of classes.
The third day has the student center filled with student support services (such as The Learning Lab and Assisted Learning Services). Representatives from several colleges including University of Michigan Dearborn, Walsh College, and many more also made an appearance at Welcome Back Days.

Overall, Welcome Back Days is a great way for students to meet new people, join clubs, and explore what is possible for them after their time at HFCC. Welcome Back Days can also help students learn more about Henry Ford and its many programs that can help students out in the long run. It can be greatly beneficial to new students as well as returning students.
