The Canizzaros have been through more than any one family should ever endure.
Michael, Drako, and Chastity—all students in Dearborn Public Schools—lost their mother, Nikki, to cancer just before Christmas. Later, on January 20, 2013, their father, Ray, passed away due to a pulmonary embolism.
The children are currently staying with their grandmother.
In December, Dearborn Patch published a request for gifts of money, food, and presents to help the family though a rough holiday season. The outgoing support from strangers and friends alike was tremendous.
Now, friends of the Canizzaro family are again asking for the community’s help for the three Dearborn children who are now without parents.
The Student Nurses Association would like all clubs to consider helping this family. The children’s grandmother is caring for the children and faces rough times ahead. Would your club like to donate or host a fundraising event? Suggested items include cash, gift cards to stores, local restaurants, or grocery stores.
