News - Sisson Gallery: “Portraits of War” Exhibit

Starting January 14 and ending March 1, the Sisson Gallery on campus (located in the Mackenzie Fine Arts Building) will be featuring the exhibit “Portraits of War” which is inspired by “The Joe Bonham Project” and will even be featuring some of the same artists. Over a dozen artists’ work will be presented, portraying the injured men who protected this country in Afghanistan and their journeys while undergoing medical treatment.
By visiting surgical shock trauma wards, the artists were able to invest time into getting to know the men who had endured amputations, disfiguring facial damage, and other life threatening injuries that took multiple months of ongoing recovery. The men represented in this exhibition have all volunteered to be a part of this influential display.
I can’t find the words to describe how moving this exhibition is. It’s just powerful,” said HFCC’s Steve Glazer on the exhibit.
The hours to view this exhibit are as follows:
Monday – Wednesday and Friday: 9am – 4:30pm
Thursday: 9am – 8pm
