Opinion - Dear Mr. President

These combinations of voices are in support of you, your ideas, and your views on the election topic. Within our blend are students from a vast range of backgrounds; from different races, religions, and cultures to veterans and mothers. With all the different circumstances bordering each of our past, yet you still uniquely favor our needs with your focus on all the issues in this upcoming election
HFCC is located in a city with one of the highest Arab populations in the world. Americans started to blame all Muslims, Arabs, and any persons associated with any type of Islamic belief. With the war being over now and plans to build a “Ground Zero Mosque” near the World Trade Center site, students feel as if the construction of that Mosque is a call for peace. A Muslim student says “the building of the mosque has been a huge topic amongst the anthropology students, and believes it will bring peace between everyone.” He also likes the fact that Obama studied the religion, it appeals to him. The student adds “hopefully it’s not build directly over the site” He then compares it to a Christian church being built directly atop of a cemetery.
In order to ever have peace with other nations, strides have to be noticeable. Barack Obama ended the war in Iraq and returned our friends, and families back to us. In addition was the arrival of war veteran, father and HFCC student, Tom. “I could still be over there fighting with no end in sight. Barak really helped me out, I loved serving my country but I missed my family too” He stated.
Students feel that President Barak Obama has really put some thought into his decisions and issues. He isn’t just trying to help one set of people out here, he learns and understands many different needs and figures out some way to cover them in his election promises. “Let him get four more” student Jasmine Foster says, and she adds “look at what he has done in the little time he’s had, he ended the war, is working on the recession, and the unemployment rate is steadily decreasing. That’s a lot already, so just imagine what he could do with four more years.”
In spite of all that’s been done, President Obama has tougher challenges ahead. Student and mother of two Erick Redderick says “Now he can focus on us his people more. Global issues are of the past, the war over and with the steady rising of jobs in our country, he can really show us (American) what he’s got. Is this nation ready to stand of fall? Is President Barak Obama ready to use his power and shine, or abuse his powers the fall? As a student, will I be able to make use of my degree I will receive during your (anticipated wining) term?”
Current college students are currently the largest beneficiaries of Obamas’ programs. The futures of these current students are quickest and longest to be affected. Obama has provided Obama care, tax plans, social security, gay marriage, new job market and outsourcing, labor unions, etc. With the combination of topics appealing to each student, more students plan to vote. Students’ futures are going to be more then changed with this election.
