Man, Machine, and Nature at the Sisson Gallery

HFCC hosted an art exhibition in the Sisson Gallery in the Fine Arts building entitled Man, Machine, and Nature. The name implies it incorporates elements of all three subjects. This event was sponsored by the Los Angeles Print Society. They are responsible for putting the show together, including picking the juror and the theme for the event.
The original theme was car culture but was eventually expanded into man vs. machine vs. nature. The juror of this exhibition, the person responsible for picking the art, chose to feature work from across the United States. The Los Angeles print Society worked with the Mid America Art College Association to put on a conference as a special event, which took place October 3-5.
This event began October 3 and will continue until November 21.The gallery hours are 9 am until 4:30 pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Thursday hours are from 9 am to 8 pm and Friday hours are from 9 am to 3pm. The gallery is closed Saturday and Sunday. If there are no gallery attendants on any given day, the gallery will be closed regardless of its scheduled hours. If it is closed, go across the hall to the Fine Arts and Fitness Office to inquire about the matter.
The gallery has many varied art pieces, including “Fast Food Mama”, “Junkyard Coyote”, “Pacific Drive In”, and “X at the Sea”.
“Most people don’t know that HFCC even has a gallery,” said Steve Glazer, the Director of Exhibitions. “The Sisson Gallery is a calming and relaxing environment where one can look at art and view other individual’s interpretation of the world around them. This often can be both exciting and enlightening.”
He encourages anyone and everyone to check out the gallery and experience it.
