Nourishing Communities

It’s that time of year again – the volunteer projects are abundant at HFCC. For students passionate about helping others, joining club projects is the thing to do. And currently, Gleaners needs you!
Every fall, students from Henry Ford partner with Gleaners – a proud member of the Food Bank Council of America that is adamant on community involvement opportunities. Volunteer Day at Gleaners provides help for daycare centers, local schools, and shelters. Activities include sorting and packing of boxes of food and assisting in assembly lines alongside volunteer-minded individuals.
Volunteer Day at Gleaners Community Food Bank will take place Saturday, October 13 from 9 am to 12 noon and again from 1pm to 3:30 pm. Volunteer Day is taking place at 25670 Northline Rd in Taylor.
Eighteen volunteers are needed for each shift and double-shifts are available. Pre-registration is required so those in charge of the event know how many volunteers they’ll have. Transportation will be provided HFCC.

Contact Student Activities Officer Cassandra Flunker for registration and additional information at crfluker@hfcc.edu. To learn more about Gleaners Community Food Bank, visit www.gcfb.org.
