HFCC Opens State-of-the-Art Welcome Center

Henry Ford Community College recently enhanced its student enrollment services by opening the cutting edge Welcome Center this spring. The Center features advanced technology and professional staff for the assistance of any students confused about the enrollment process.
The Welcome Center was designed to support the success of students as efficiently as possible. “We are so pleased to invite students to experience what, we believe, is an exemplary model of service designed to support their success.” sated Dr. Gail Mee, president of HFCC. Experts surveyed the needs of students and designed the Center with the goal of exceeding all expectations.
The center enables students to apply to HFCC, speak to advisors, take placement exams, apply for financial aid, receive academic advising and register for classes with state of the art technology. The highly trained and dedicated staff provides an innovative and individually-focused atmosphere for new coming or confused students.
HFCC created the Welcome Center by renovating a building purchased in 2008 from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. The building encompasses over 50,000 square feet and was constructed to support an effortless flow of service in addition to upholding environmental responsibilities. The Center features bamboo wall coverings, carpet made of recycled contents, low-toxin plants, recycling bins, and a plethora of new HP All-in-One computers. Nearly all transactions are conducted online to boost efficiency and avoid waste
The Welcome Center can be found across from the north entrance of HFCC, on SME drive. The Center was opened on Monday, April 22, 2012. It is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm and Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30. For further information, call (313) 845-6495.
