School Shooting Leaves 3 Dead and 3 Injured

Chardon,Ohio—T.J Lane, a sophomore at Lake Academy, went on a killing spree at Chardon High School, leaving three students dead and three others injured.
Using a .22-caliber handgun that was stolen from his grandfather’s house, Lane fired 10 shots on five students. According to witnesses, Lane came into the cafeteria and opened-fire at a group of juniors who were sitting at the same table. Daniel Parmertor, 16; Russell King Jr., 17; and Demetrius Hewlin, 16; all died from their wounds.
Joy Rickers, 18, and Nick Walczak, 17, were seriously injured but have since been released from the hospital. Nate Mueller, who knew Lane from middle school and identified him as the shooter, was grazed on his right ear by a bullet but did not suffer serious injury.
Lane was apprehended about thirty minutes after the shootings. He later told local officials that he did not know his victims and they were chosen at random. Geauga County Prosecutor David Joyce told reporters that Lane was “not well” and his actions were not associated with bullying or drugs.
Students who had classes with Lane reported him to be, “Quiet, nice and not a talker.”
