President Obama’s Interfaith and Community Service Challenge

The Office of Student Activities and Service Learning invite you to participate. HFCC students, youth from ACCESS, and from Urban Neighborhood Initiatives will take part in three dialogue sessions and a “grand finale” service project. The three dialogue sessions will take place at ACCESS and the Service Day will gather and serve near the Urban Neighborhood Initiatives headquarters in Southwest Detroit. (Carpooling will be necessary and provided).

First dialogue session:Friday, March 2, 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Second dialogue session: Friday, March 16, 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Third dialogue session: Friday, March 23, 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Service Day: Saturday, March 31, 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
*Must be present all four sessions to participate.

The purpose of this project is to explore the meaning behind religious observances in the Christian and Islamic traditions and how that impacts our culture, and to serve the community side by side with people from a variety of ethnic and religious backgrounds. Food will be provided.
