Opinion - We are Perfect!

Sometimes we all feel alone. Sometimes we think no one understands what we’re going through. At one point in time, we all go through something that brings darkness into our hearts and minds. But rest assured you are not alone. When things feel completely hopeless and you feel devastated, remember there is someone that’s rooting for you. When it comes to getting rid of that cloud that’s looming over your head, think of these few techniques that help.

Breathe.
When you feel overwhelmed, take a step back and deeply inhale. You can do this even when you’re at school, at work, or in any stressful situation. It calms the heart rate down and steadies the mind to focus.

Meditate.
Serenity is a peaceful technique. It’s a way to focus all the negative energy that is impaling you and turning it into a positive aura. This is a technique that monks in China use to rid themselves of all the bad that’s around them.

Scream.
It sounds weird but it releases all the pent up frustration, pain, anger, hurt, and rage. When things are too much and you feel like there’s no way out, scream. If you don’t want anyone to hear you, scream into a pillow. Go into your backyard, drive-way, attic, basement, any place that is secluded and scream until you feel better.

BE PROUD.
When you feel like no one understands the way you dress, or the way your hair is, smile and tell them, “I’m EMO and I’m proud of it.” Never let anyone try to change you because you paint your nails black, or you wear all black clothing. Don’t be discouraged if someone calls you a freak. It’s they who have the problem. You are beautiful / handsome the way you are. If you’re fat, skinny, tall, short, black, white, Asian, Muslim—it doesn’t matter. Love yourself and be proud of who you are.
There’s a song that touched so many people when it came out a few years ago. It’s fitting for this article. It’s called “Don’t Laugh at Me” by Mark Wills. The chorus says, “Don’t laugh at me. Don’t call me names. Don’t get your pleasure from my pain. In God’s eyes, we’re all the same. Someday we’ll all have perfect wings.” This statement is very true. WE are perfect no matter where we are, how we look, or what ethnicity we are, WE ARE PERFECT!!
