Second Annual “No Beast Feast” Vegetarian Dinner

The Dearborn Animal Shelter presents its second annual fundraiser dinner featuring specialty vegetarian cuisine and re-imagined comfort food favorites. This harvest dinner celebrates the fine art of vegetarian cooking with appetizers, entrees and desserts. New this year is a signature dish and dessert provided by Chef Genevieve Vang of Bangkok 96 Thai restaurant. Bangkok 96 has been rated one of metro Detroit’s top 10 vegetarian friendly restaurants, and is a regular winner in Click-on Detroit’s Best of Detroit, Thai restaurant. Chef Richard Teeple of Henry Ford Community College is also serving up a specialty dish for the evening’s guests.
Elaine Greene, Executive Director of the Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter, said, “Many members of the community and our organization’s supporters are vegetarian, have vegetarian friends or are curious about expanding their food choices. This dinner is one way for everyone to share in a meal.”
The evening’s activities include door prizes, a tin can raffle, entertainment and more. Attendees will also receive take-home recipes to try vegetarian specialties in their own kitchens. To round out an elegant flair for the evening, the Henry Ford Community College Ice Carving Club is providing an ice sculpture to dress the center table.
No Beast Feast takes place on Friday, September 16, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Park Place, 23400 Park Street, Dearborn, Mi. 48124, located two blocks south of Michigan avenue, on the west side of Outer drive.
