Henry Ford Community College Astronomy Club

You don’t have to know a lot about astronomy to join the HFCC Astronomy Club. Our mission is to learn, explore and have fun with astronomy along with other sciences.
In the past the Astronomy Club has watched science fiction and science fact films, discussed astronomy-related events, watched Hubble 3-D at the IMAX Theatre, visited the planetarium at HFCC and attended events coordinated by the Ford Amateur Astronomy Club (FAAC). Being a member in the HFCC Astronomy Club gives you free membership in the FAAC. But don’t let the “amateur” fool you. The FAAC is filled with people who are experts in astronomy! There are also special interest groups within FAAC such as the Astrophotography SIG.
The HFCC Astronomy Club would like to become more active in the HFCC community by volunteering and raising interest in astronomy. We plan to visit the University of Michigan-Dearborn observatory, the HJR observatory, learn to prepare and run shows in the planetarium and coordinate with the FAAC to attend events.

Please consider joining our club!

Meetings: Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. in C-113 (Student Activities building) until September 15, and Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. in S-2 (basement of the Science building) beginning September 22.
