HFCC Signs 14 New Players for 2012 Baseball Season

Fourteen young men who recently graduated from high school from all over the Metro Detroit area have signed letters of intent to play college baseball for HFCC for the 2012 season.
“This is my first recruiting class, so I’m excited about that,” said Steve Brown, who returns as head coach for his second season. He has coached baseball for nearly 30 years.
Brown is joined by his brother, Mark Brown, who will serve as assistant coach. Another positive addition to this influx of rookies includes pitching coach Rick Miller, who is in his first year of coaching at HFCC.
“It’s a pleasure to be here. I can’t wait to get this season underway,” said Miller.
The 14 new recruits and the high school they attended include:

“I’ve got a solid group of young men, talent-wise. They’re also academically solid with a 3.0 GPA or better. I’m really looking forward to this season,” said Brown.
Although14 new players have signed on for the HFCC baseball team, baseball tryouts will still take place Wednesday, Aug. 31, through Friday, Sept. 2, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Fordson High School Baseball Stadium, located at 6156 Maple Road in Dearborn. Those wishing to try out for the HFCC baseball team must attend a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 23, in the Berry Auditorium, located in the Andrew A. Mazzara Administrative Services Conference Center on campus.
