Movie Review: Drive Angry

Drive Angry is a waste of two hours you will never get back.

It was 3-D movie about a satanic cult and an innocent child who was caught in the crossfire. The plot of the story was promising, but the representation of the plot was disgusting. Throughout the movie, the story of the child and everything that has happened to her over the past year was hard to understand with the distraction of gratuitous nudity, profanity, and explosions.

The relationship between a resurrected John Milton (Nicholas Cage, Leaving Las Vegas) – note the not-so-subtle-name of Cage’s character? – and Piper (Amber Heard, Zombieland) was pure magic. As he helps her through her problems and gains her trust and love – none romantic – she helps him save the child before dying again and returning with the Accountant (William Fichtner, The Dark Knight) to Hell. The part of Jonah King (Billy Burke, Twilight) was perplexing. His role didn’t have a purpose to make him stand out. He was more of a flat character with no good characteristics. As for Cage, he merely chewed the scenery as he phoned this one in. He has been doing plenty of paycheck movies lately.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this movie to anyone; there was nothing good about it. The 3-D effects had no point. The nudity was extreme, and the characters didn’t learn or grow from their experiences.

It was a pointless film.
