Phi Theta Kappa Helps Ensure Students Receive Scholarships

Money is obviously limited in this time of depression, and that makes necessities come before anything; making sure that the roof over your head is secure, all bills are paid, and every mouth is fed. That can cause students to push back their schooling when it should also be included with their other top priorities.

Phi Theta Kappa is attempting to do their best by showing students that there is money available, and it couldn't be any easier to get.

Phi Theta Kappa puts on a scholarship workshop the second Wednesday of every month at 9:00 p.m. in T-123 of the Technology Building. The workshop shows students how simple it is to apply for scholarships that are offered by the school, as well as other local organizations and schools. It also shows students the new method that they can utilize to apply for scholarships.

Prior to the new method, students had to fill out paperwork after paperwork after paperwork to apply for scholarships. Now, with the new system students can type in their major and other interests, and a complete list of every scholarship—along with every requirement—and award money is shown. Students can then select up to six of the scholarships, and fill in all of the requirements for those six scholarships simultaneously online.
