HFCC Staff Wins National Award

Douglas Freed, director of Enrollment Development at Henry Ford Community College, earned selection as the 2010 Communicator of the Year for the Midwest District by the National Council of Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR). NCMPR presented his award at the association’s annual conference in Indianapolis Oct. 7.

In announcing this award, the NCMPR committee noted that Freed’s leadership “in revitalizing communications efforts and marketing at Henry Ford Community College has been noticed by your peers and has established you as an example of excellence in our profession.”

During the conference, he also received two Medallion awards for marketing excellence in the Radio Advertisement Series and Brochure categories. In total, Freed has won more than 75 marketing awards for HFCC from a variety of national and international associations. He is entered into the competition for the NCMPR national Communicator of the Year, which will be announced in March 2011. He has worked at HFCC for the more than eight years.
